Florentine & Alexandre Lamarche-Ovize

"It was a first for us to work from a fragrance and words, and recreate the intoxicating, structured, strong and warm sensation they gave us. Usually we start from a real, visual medium, and we loved this new experience with Cappadocia."

Florentine and Alexandre Lamarche-Ovize (1978 and 1980) have been working together since 2006. They live and work in Bobigny. They are represented by Galerie Laurent Godin in Paris, where they exhibited in 2022.

Their practice combines drawing and ceramics, engaging with different styles and modes of representation inherited from the history of art and craft. A visual language sustained by drawing, for drawing.

Their works are present in CNAP’s collections, Frac Pays de la loire and Midi Pyrénées, Cité de la céramique in Sèvres, among others.
